NOTICE to Villagers – Spring 1977
As you know, 1977 is Royal Silver Jubilee Year. A committee of Braithwell and Micklebring residents has been formed and Tuesday, 7th June, we hope to hold village celebrations. Its is proposed that during the morning there will be a Parade of Decorated Floats and a Fancy Dress Parade for all ages, and it is hoped that individuals will decorate the outside of their houses, to add to this festive occasion.
From 2.00pm to approximately 5.00 pm, games, e.g. Knock-out-Cricket, Tug-of Ware, etc. will be held on the school field, when light refreshments will be served. From 4.00pm to 6.00pm a disco/party will take place at the school for children under 14 years of age. In the evening there is to be a dance for all village people, in the School Hall.
Perhaps you would like to give a small donation to assist in financing the celebrations. If so, please place it in the envelope provided and one of the committee will collect it during the next few days.
The Parish Council will be providing Jubilee Crowns for all children up to 16 years of age (inclusive) by 31st August 1977. Please complete the tear-off slip below state ages and dates of birth of our child(ren) and hand it to the collector.
Thank you in anticipation of your help and cooperation.

The souvenir Jubilee Crowns for children up to 16 years were to have been distributed on Thursday 26th May. These were ordered in February, but unfortunately we are experiencing difficulty in acquiring them from the Bank in time. We must therefore regretfully postpone distribution and will publicise a new date as soon as we are able.
We hope for a fine day and that you will all come and join in the fun.
